The EMPower project – Empowering Young People to Become Entrepreneurs, led by the Polytechnic of Coimbra (PUC) in partnership with the Center for Technology and Innovation CCG/ZGDV, aims to carry out a set of training actions for young people to develop initiative and technological entrepreneurship skills, aimed at increasing their employability. The project brings together actions aimed at young people sharing and interacting with entrepreneurs, developing personal and teamwork skills, developing technological and digital skills, culminating in support for the development of business ideas and projects.
It also aims to create interaction/collaboration networks between the PUC, the CCG, businesspeople and local agents in the Central and Northern regions, with the aim of increasing the territorial scope of the project’s actions and enhancing its results and impact, thus designing a path with prospects for results and joint work in the long term.
It strategic objectives are:
– To develop training and dissemination actions on technology-based information and technology demonstration aimed at young people, with a focus on digital technologies;
– To promote immersion activities in a business environment and visits to companies and/or ecosystems, particularly of a technological and innovative nature, which boost employability and entrepreneurship;
– To provide training in the areas of innovation, financing, or others, in order to enhance the development of business initiatives at the idea stage;
– To train local agents for employability and technology-based entrepreneurship;
– To create mentoring networks that connect the PUC and CCG/ZGDV structures and companies and that enhance the training and integration of young people;
– To create awards that promote support for the development of projects at the idea stage;
– To promote the project, attracting students, alumni, unemployed young people, entrepreneurs and businesspeople to the respective activities;
– To ensure the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project and the coordination between the various agents participating in the process;
– To assess the impact of the project in terms of the results to be achieved.
