Strategic Axes

Axis 1 – BUSINESS INCUBATION

To ensure compliance with its growth strategy, INOPOL aims to consolidate itself within the PUC academic community, but also within the Region’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, as a structure of excellence, duly qualified for the incubation of innovative ideas, projects and companies.

In this context, priority is given to spinoff companies from the PUC and startup companies with a strong connection to the institution, either through students, graduates, teachers, researchers or through co-promoted R&D projects. Nevertheless, INOPOL is also geared towards supporting and empowering entrepreneurs in the Region on their journey to create and develop their businesses.

Axis 2 – TRAINING & NETWORKING

As an organic unit supporting training and development, INOPOL is a structure dedicated to promoting, streamlining and managing training actions and programs for innovation, entrepreneurship and employability, as well as fostering and raising awareness for the valorisation and transfer of scientific knowledge generated in the academic environment to the business sector.

As INOPOL’s scope of action is transversal to the entire PUC universe, the initiatives developed in this area are aimed at the entire Polytechnic of Coimbra community, but also at entrepreneurs with projects or companies incubated at INOPOL and all agents of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Region.

Axis 3 – KNOWLEDGE VALORISATION

The protection and valorisation of scientific and technological knowledge produced within the PUC academic community is a strategic domain in the context of the mission and work developed by INOPOL.

In this context, INOPOL’s role is to provide transversal support to the entire innovation value chain in the PUC community, managing the institution’s intellectual property (IP) rights and the processes of transferring this knowledge to society and the business community.

Axis 4 – PROMOTING EMPLOYABILITY

Within the PUC universe, INOPOL also carries out its action in the areas of training for employability, facilitating professional integration and monitoring the career plan of the institution’s students and graduates.

In this context, we promote the development of transversal and future skills that will contribute to adapting their skills to the expectations of employers, enabling them in the processes of active job search, career management and professional integration.
